Derek Nobbs draws inspiration from various sources such as antique photographs, strange ephemera, vintage taxidermy, old items lovingly used until the missing paint works with nature’s rust to tell a story, and the land from the desert to the sea. From this he combines elements of design with a tightly executed scenes painted on paper stained to look as old as the inspirations he draws from.
